Plastic bottles into shoes

By the way, why recycled plastic shoes?

By the way, why recycled plastic shoes?

Well, it's very simple, by 2021, if nothing changes, it's more than 500 billion plastic bottles that will be sold each year in the world!

So rather than end up in landfills, or worse in the oceans, at SAOLA, we recycle them. And as it is not enough to add laces on old plastic bottles (we already tried, comfort level is not ideal), we decided to explain how we do to get the canvas of our shoes!
Once they arrive at the recycling center, the bins are sorted, and all the clear plastic bottles are recovered!
This is the stage where all these bottles are cleaned and crushed into small pieces, but really small, we start cutting small pieces, even smaller, and always smaller until you get some kind of small balls!
All our little bottles are then melted (and we do not talk about Savoyard fondue ...), and extracted through small holes, but really tiny ... tiny ... miniatures ... until they turn into thread.
This is where the magic works, you end up getting a 100% recycled fiber, just waiting to be woven to have a second life! And that's where at SAOLA, we use this thread to create the canvas of our shoes.

And TADAAAAAAAM! We get a stylish, comfortable, and recycled pump pair made for our everyday life, and for those to come! It's as simple as that, to commit to the future.

So, if you're still wondering if recycling is worth it, the answer is a big YES!

So join the movement, together we can #MAKEANIMPACT!
